This is one very long-overdue update! CIRCLE IN THE SQUARE Following a delightful springtime, I decided to dedicate my summer to study at Circle in the Square's summer acting intensive. I could not be happier with that decision! I feel blessed to have the time to devote to the incredible course of study, and grateful to have worked with teachers including Terese Hayden, Alan Langdon, Sybil Lines, Jacqueline Brooks, Elizabeth Loughran, Elena McGhee, and Ken Schatz. I can't wait to put my new skills to use on a daily basis, and am forever grateful to the wonderful folks at this amazing conservatory. BIOGRAPHY CHANNEL - CELEBRITY GHOST STORIES Season 4 Episode 1 aired in August! Please enjoy a short clip on my media page as I portray "Young Lainie Kazan," or learn more on my IMDB page. PRINT, GIGS, CONCERT! I've recently enjoyed some freelance work with Tryon Entertainment, modeling for Aston Leather's upcoming online catalog, and a guest appearance singing Broadway hits with the Toms River Municipal Band in Ocean County, NJ. UPCOMING!
I'm pleased to say I will once again be a part of Matheny Medical and Educational Center's Annual production of Full Circle, which showcases the artistic endeavors of Arts Access artists. Matheny houses people with complex disabilities, and Arts Access facilitates a positive environment for these artists to create! Also, I will be playing Prudence in Jagger Kaye's charity reading of Beyond Therapy on November 18. I am greatly looking forward to playing in this hilarious Christopher Durang work-- and the best part is, all proceeds go towards purchasing toys and gifts for children in need during the holidays. This week I'll be filming a small role in the upcoming indie Nom Wah with Bayard Studios of Brooklyn. Also coming soon.... new headshots! Wishing you many pumpkin-flavored treats, crunchy leaves, and a happy harvest time!

Can it already be the middle of the summer?! After a successful run of HANKY PANKY, and the honor of working with talented individuals such as Avi Hoffman and Michael Larsen throughout, I enjoyed a terribly busy spring! My favorite events are these: REVEL OPENING I modeled for the opening of Atlantic City's newest Resort/Casino, The Revel, over Memorial Day weekend. Here are some photos from the hotel and the red carpet prior to Beyonce's comeback concerts. BIOGRAPHY CHANNEL
Following a whirlwind of a weekend at the Revel, I was thrilled to film the role of Young Lainie Kazan in the Biography Channel's Celebrity Ghost Stories. I look forward to viewing the finished product, airing this fall! CIRCLE IN THE SQUARE SCHOOL Finally, I am taking the time this summer to study at Circle in the Square's summer program. I am thoroughly challenged, terrified, and over joyed to be growing at such a prestigious and eclectic conservatory. Hoping your summer is full of sunshine and joy...! I am thrilled to invite you to "HANKY PANKY" : a new comedy with music, set to open next week in Montclair's newest professional theatre, Apricot Sky Productions. Hanky Panky weaves a wonderful tale of a Jewish family in 1959 Boro Park, Brooklyn. The show stars PBS Celebrity Avi Hoffman, Broadway veteran Gordon Stanley, as well as Susan Cohen DeStefano, Michael Bernardi, and... yours truly. We are led by Director Ed Schiff and Music Director Michael Larsen.
It has been an honor and blessing to work with this incredible cast and production team! To say "I've learned a lot" and everyone is "talented and wonderful" would be the understatement of the century. Also, we've got a write-up in the Bloomfield Life and Nutley Sun! Check it out here. Hope to see you at the Grove Street Theatre starting April 18! Visit Apricot Sky Productions for ticket info and dates. Well, with less than two weeks until spring, here's a little bit of what I did with my winter! RHYTHM IN THE NIGHT PREMIERE: In February, I spent some time with Two Step Producitons dancing in the premiere showcase event of the new Irish dance show Rhythm in the Night. This brand-spankin-new show features the music of young composers Andrew and Jared DePolo, telling the story of the "bad guy" Balor. The showcase and gala were held at the spectacular Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota, FL. Check out a photo of the cast! Photo: Adam Lein Hair/makeup: Boyko & Co. FASHION WEEK: I had the pleasure of walking for designer Espen Salberg in Planete Chic's New York Fashion Week Kickoff Event at Soho Open House Gallery. Espen's "Firmato" Couture Fall 2012 collection may be viewed on Planete Chic's website. We also had a special guest in attendance-- "Dancing With the Stars" pro Maks Chmerkovsky. It was a pleasure to meet him, being that I may or may not watch the show on a weekly basis... In addition, check out my new Irish dancing highlight reel on the media page, as well as some new print work from a shoot with the very talented George Evan and Rebecca Blondell on my print page. I wish you a happy spring! More exciting news coming very soon! It is a busy autumn! I couldn't be more thrilled to be portraying Caitlin O'Hare in the Bickford Theatre's production of "Over the River and Through the Woods" in NJ. This fantastically written comedy is truly a gem, thanks to its Tony Award winner author Joe DiPietro. I consider myself blessed to be part of a wonderfully talented and equally sweet cast and crew.
The plot, you may ask? Nick is a twenty-something NYC bachelor who spends every Sunday across the river in Hoboken with his Italian-American grandparents. But that's all about to change now that he's been offered his dream job-- in Seattle. His grandparents are not ready to let him go, and they embark on a scheme to keep Nick around. An endearing family comedy just in time for the holidays, filled with love, laughter, and lasagne! "...Noreen Hughes exhibits the good humor of [the] young woman...especially effective as she scolds Nick for his treatment of his grandparents, especially when she relates the story of her own grandmother. The interplay between Hughes and Bernardi feels right..." -Ruth Ross, NJ Arts Maven "Noreen Hughes as Caitlin is lovely..." "...a superb cast that blends seamlessly" -Liz Keill, The Alternative Press "The marvelous cast..." -Rick Busciglio, NJ Footlights & Northern NJ Theater Examiner Please join us for this heartwarming comedy, playing only through December 4! Tickets available here. I wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving! Apparently, summer came and went in a blink!
Highlights from this summer: SINGLE NUMBER PREMIERE: Brotherhood Productions hosted the long awaited Single Number premiere this summer-- footage coming very soon....!! CELTIC FLING: I am grateful to traditional band Irish Blessing for inviting me to contribute both song and dance to this summer's Celtic Fling, held at Pennsylvania's Ren Faire grounds. Special thanks also for the NEW footage--check out my media page for the duet "Inisheer", or visit Irish Blessing's website for videos of our performance. Also at Celtic Fling, we paid a visit to the main stage with the lads of Scythian-- (special thanks to Danu for .2 bars of warning on the tempo change!) If you haven't been to a Scythian concert, GO, and get ready for a high-energy, Celtic blast. View our performance here. BEACH SHOOT: I spent the 4th of July enjoying sunset shoot on Martha's Vineyard with Visceral Photography (see below). IN LOVE WITH THE DANCE: A quick weekend in Chicago was enjoyed by all with new Irish dance show "In Love with the Dance." Best wishes to the company as they tour Europe this fall. Looking forward to an autumn filled with new adventures--now represented by both Peter Coe Talent and Silver Model Management. Welcome, springtime! I've returned to the NYC area from a whirlwind of a tour with The Magic of Ireland. Check out a review of our performance at the eclectic Stockey Centre in Parry Sound-- click here. Also, why enjoy some photos from the show? Next up is a quick Memorial Day weekend performance of In Love with the Dance in Chicago, IL. Click here for the website of this brand new Irish dancing show.
I have also been busy in front of the lens, with new print shots scattered about this site. Many thanks to photographers David and Lena Kaptein, Daniel Gerdes, and Danny of Visceral Photography. How many changes to my site can YOU spot? And lastly, but definitely most exciting, Brotherhood Productions' indie short Single Number (starring yours truly along with the one and only Brett Druck) will premiere on June 16. Details forthcoming! Greetings from a snowy day in Maine! My, how time flies.
Just on the heels of wrapping the indie short Single Number, Brotherhood Productions invited me to be featured in their "Spotlight" series! The first part my interview with Paul Battaglini, co-founder of this dynamic production company, is on their website right here. Rehearsals for the North American tour of The Magic of Ireland began in February just outside Toronto. I couldn't be more excited to tour 40 cities with some of the finest dancers and musicians in the Irish community. Check out our itinerary! Finally, our cast and crew met with reporter Mike Strobel, of the Toronto Sun, to discuss the unexpected house fire in our cast house last week. Thankfully, no one was home or injured during the electric-induced blaze. Read all about how the show went on (and view a little bit of dancing!) in The Toronto Sun. Here's to adventures across North America, gratitude for countless blessings, and the hope of spring on the horizon! Happy Holidays one and all! I have many exciting tidbits to report. First, I recently took some new portraits with Visceral Photography. Danny is a delight to work with as well as a brilliant artist. Have a look here. Secondly, I had the time of my life touring to Hong Kong with Quest Visual Theatre! We had a ball teaching and performing with the Lutheran School for the Deaf, exploring sites such as the big Buddha and Victoria's Peak, and performing our beloved Alice at the JCCAC in Sheh Kip Mei, Kowloon. The trip was made possible by the US State Department in conjunction with the Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong. We were even featured in the South China Morning Post (Hong Kong's version of the USA Today): South China Morning Post Thirdly, I am pleased to announce I am freelancing with The BAE Group for print modeling. I am humbled and excited to be working with this dynamic agency in New York City.
Fourth, I happened upon a "featured model" role in the new sitcom Running Wilde. Episode 8 aired while I was in Hong Kong, so I have yet to view it-- but I can tell you I'm the one in pink. I didn't even know the scene made it to air on FOX until a friend left a message saying, "Did you just walk past Will Arnett?" Why, yes I did. Best wishes for a healthy and prosperous 2011! November has been flying and full of blessings! It was truly an honor to portray Jenny Durr at this year's Full Circle performance in conjunction with Arts Access Programs at Matheny Medical and Educational Center in New Jersey. I was humbled and blown away by the opportunity to meet Jenny and her fellow artists. Jenny just published Life View, a collection of her poetry and writing, which is available on amazon.com. I've also been enjoying rehearsals with Quest: Visual Theatre as we prepare Alice for performances in Hong Kong next month. That's right, our fun-loving, deaf/hard-of-hearing/hearing cast of characters will travel to Hong Kong for a teaching residency and performances during the month of December. This production tells the story of Alice in Wonderland with just six people, four boxes, and no language-- not even ASL! Check out our website and blog here. Finally, I am pleased to announce that next spring I will be dancing across the US/Canada on tour with The Magic of Ireland, a celebration of traditional Irish music and dance. May the spirit of grace be with you and yours this Thanksgiving! |
