Well, thank Heaven for chirping birds, bursting sunshine, and even those pesky pollen allergies... spring is finally here! My latest highlights.... GOOD MORNING AMERICA I had a great time modeling on ABC's Good Morning America last month! We showed looks from favorite TV shows on "How To Primetime Your Closet." I couldn't believe they let me represent Sofia Vergara's character, Gloria, from Modern Family. Here's a still, or watch the whole segment here! APP COMMERCIAL We had a great day shooting a new App promo - watch "Custom Automation in No Time" at the bottom of this page. I played another lovely wife! And, here's some more parts work for an online campaign for a well-known shoe brand! Very springtime :) DANCERS OF NEW YORK... ...won big at the International Mobil Film Festival! Thanks to our fearless phenom videographer Tristan Pope, we took first prize in the fourth annual competition in California. In case you missed it, here's the link to watch! UP NEXT.... BIG NEWS! (REALLY, REALLY BIG!) I will step into the role of "Mrs." for the rest of my life - my sweetheart proposed, and I of course said yes! (insert smiley faces, silly hearts, and exclamation points... here.) Let's have life, and have it abundantly! ...and I really do mean that! It's been a busy and wonderful year... here's what's happening! ENRON at the GARAGE THEATRE GROUP It was a quirky and wonderful run of ENRON at the Garage Theatre Group in Teaneck, NJ. I had a great time playing news reporter Gayle Davenport, among five other characters. Being a part of this diverse ensemble of chameleons was an acting study all on its own! We played lawyers, analysts, raptors, mice, a barbershop quartet, the list is goes on... It was a trip to be part of Lucy Prebble's innovative play. BRIDAL WEEK with CYMBELINE I had the pleasure of modeling for Cymbeline Paris at this fall's NY Bridal Week (...no, I have no plans to get married right now!). Look who stopped by our booth - the gracious and wonderful Randy Fenoli, from TLC's Say Yes to the Dress! FASHION representation I'm very happy to say that I am now working with MSA WOMEN. So far I have walked for Irina Shabayeva at the MacDella Cooper Fashion Benefit for Ebola, and for Montaha Couture at a Fashion 4 Development event. I am looking forward to a successful 2015 with this well reputed agency! COMMERCIAL PRINT representation I have also just begun working with ABBEY LYNN MODELS. Three cheers to this new agency - glad to be on the Lifestyle board! ...and MORE! There are lots of new additions to my portfolio, thanks to wonderful photographers Steven Menendez and Nuru Kimondo. More to come very soon.... Until next time, I wish you holidays that are merry and bright! Well, here we go into my favorite season of the year! SO MUCH has been going on, and I'm thrilled to share it. SINGIN' IN THE RAIN makes A SPLASH! Well, the audiences and critics alike couldn't get enough of Singin' in the Rain at the Reagle Music Theatre - and neither could I! This show is one of the classics, the true gems, and boy did I have the time of my life as Lina Lamont. It was a privilege and pleasure to work with the brilliant Kirby Ward, our incomparable director, as well as a wonderful cast and crew.. What did the critics have to say? "But perhaps the most difficult and demanding role in the show... [is] that of Lamont, the silent movie star with the determinedly off-key speaking and singing voice whose career is threatened by the emergence of 'the talkies.' It requires acting chops, strong comedic timing, concentration in staying off-key, and the ability to stay in character while putting over a number such as 'What’s Wrong With Me?' and Hughes is spot-on in her performance." Rich Fahey, On Boston Stages "Willing to do anything for a laugh, Noreen Hughes portrays blond celebrity bombshell Lina Lamont. She is gawky, shrill, and cunning, her lanky body, stature, and wild eyes make for a perfect Lina as she bellows out an added song not included in the film version, ‘What’s Wrong With Me.’" Jeanne Denizard, Boston Performing Arts Examiner (five stars!) "Hughes got plenty of laughs as the screechy Lina." Joel Brown, The Boston Globe "Hughes’ Lina Lamont is not someone with whom you want a romance, but Hughes brings much humor and credibility to the self-interested and imposing villainess. With legs for days, Hughes could easily just be a pretty face, but she is willing to give her Lina so many dislikeable qualities that the character becomes a humorously conflicting character. Her “What’s Wrong With Me?” is a star-turn of purposely screeching vocals juxtaposed with her gorgeous body and movements." Brian Balduzzi, My Entertainment World TRISTAN POPE PHOTOGRAPHY I just had the pleasure and privilege of working with brilliant dance and fashion photographer Tristan Pope on a beautiful video, "Dancers of New York." Featuring a myriad of NYC dancers and styles, this video was shot entirely using apps and features of the new iPhone 6. The full YouTube page details Tristan's approach and techniques, for anyone interested. Enjoy! UP NEXT: ENRON Next up, I'll be part of the mad ensemble of ENRON at the Garage Theatre Group in Teaneck, NJ. Rehearsals start tomorrow and I am looking forward to seeing this neat play on its feet! Until next time, I wish you warm apple ciders, cozy sweaters, and crunchy leaves under your feet...! LONG OVERDUE UPDATE! How on earth is it July already?? A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM I couldn't have had a better time as Hippolyta in the Storm Theatre's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, which played May 30 - June 14. What a brilliant, hilarious cast that grew night after night! Here's a pair of production photos: NEW HEADSHOTS I had the pleasure once again of shooting with the wonderful Taylor Hooper. We tackled the "straight hair headshot" - many of which are now on my main and print pages. Which do you prefer, curly or straight? SPECK CANDY AMP COMMERCIAL Keep your eyes peeled on the internet for a new commercial for Speck Candy Amp phone cases. I play a sleepy, eye-rolling office employee..... it was a stretch. ;) Footage coming soon! SINGIN' IN THE RAIN I am super excited to announce that I will be playing Lina Lamont at the Reagle Music Theatre in their August production of Singin in the Rain! I am currently up to my ears in preparing my voice for this role, and feel very sorry for all of my neighbors listening nearby..... Wishing you perfect summer sunsets, icy cold beverages, and magical fireflies to light your sky...!
BASTARD BLOOD with SYBIL LINES Next up to bat - a showcase production of Bastard Blood at Broadway Presbyterian on April 25, May 2, and May 3! This production chronicles the War of the Roses, beginning after the death of King Henry V and carrying through Richard III. I will be portraying both Eleanor Cobham and Alice Chaucer in this immersive theatrical experience. Our fearless creator and director, Sybil Lines (formerly of the Royal Shakespeare Company), has woven together Shakespeare's timeless words to illustrate the history of the struggle for the crown of England. A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM On deck - it is a springtime full of the Bard for me, as I am thrilled to be cast as Hippolyta in the Storm Theatre's upcoming production of A Midsummer Night's Dream! Performances begin May 30... details forthcoming! MORE FUN... Check out my print page for a few additions in the fitness department, and also some recent updates to my MSA Models page! But my favorite role in my life so far... is "Auntie Noreen." My brother and his wife welcomed a baby girl into the world in January. My niece is an inspiration and a beauty! What a blessing! Until next time... Enjoy SPRING! PLAY BALL! Lots to recap from this fall! COMMERCIAL CURRENTLY RUNNING I was delighted to film a new commercial this September! I played the very smart wife in four different commercial spots, currently airing regionally. MSA MODELS Great news-- I have just begun working with MSA Models. Click here for my portfolio in their Lifestyle division. INDIE & NYFA Films My autumn saw plenty more time in front of the camera-- in the upcoming indie Shauna Says Hi (Colin James/Duct Tape Productions) and in the short film Low Fidelity, (director/writer Pranav X. Kulkarni, NYFA). Clips from the latter are up and running on the Media page.
Well now, that went too fast! Summer flew by quicker than I could blink! There's a lot to catch up on around here.. BOEING BOEING I could not have asked for a more wonderful cast, crew, role, and theatre to work with this summer. The 100-year-old New Harmony Theatre was a dream-- Boeing, Boeing felt like an early Christmas! We received a lot of love from the audience, too-- not only in unending laughter and generous applause, but from the Evansville Courier as well... "...director Elliot Wasserman's six-member cast plunges into a broad, breathless, impeccably-timed production, delivering some predictably comic turns and some refreshingly surprising twists." --Roger McBain, Evansville Courier & Press "Noreen Hughes...is a tempting, emotional tempest of arching brows, waving arms and stamping feet as Robert's leggy Italian betrothed." -Roger McBain, Evansville Courier & Press FILMS After returning from New Harmony, it was a busy summer in front of the camera! I had the pleasure of working on the short film Highline Possible-- filmed at, you guessed it-- the Highline! I adored this story concept exploring communication and language-- check out a clip on the media page. :) I also had the privilege of working with several creative budding film directors at NYFA, on the short film The Tourist and a dance project. Footage coming imminently! Finally, I have been cast in two more films this coming September-- with their varied roles and concepts, I can't WAIT to edit them into my reel.... stay tuned! And, thankfully, this summer held a couple of very fun print shoots, one of which *perhaps* involved my favorite beverage... :) Until next time.... Sláinte!
The winter has passed! So much is happening! In addition to having been on some exciting auditions and callbacks (read: Columbia Pictures & regional commercials), filming an industrial project with Matheny Medical Center, and the always fun TRYON Entertainment gigs, I have several bookings to share with you from this spring... ![]() NEW HARMONY THEATRE I'm happy to announce that next week I will dive into rehearsals at the New Harmony Theatre in Indiana for a production of "Boeing, Boeing" this June. I am beyond thrilled to join a talented and accomplished cast to take on this fast-paced farce by Marc Camoletti. This Irish lass is ready to trade potatoes for pasta to fly as Gabriella, the AliItalia hostess! MODELING Springtime brought wonderful, creative people and causes: walking for Saborama Couture in The Carol Galvin Foundation's semi-annual charity event-- attended by the Turkish Ambassador among others. I also enjoyed a shoot with Emmanuel Faure at FIT, as well as a great day in front of the camera with Vivian Pisano at the Secret Garden Spa. NEW REPRESENTATION As of February, I am additionally represented by NY model & talent management company MMG-- and thrilled to be on their incredible roster! TRAINING I continue to study with the remarkable Ken Schatz on a regular basis. Words can't express how much I feel my craft has grown under the tutelage of this challenging and trustworthy coach. Thank you, Ken! Until next time.... Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!" -Robin Williams
It may be the bleak mid-winter, but I declare full-steam ahead in 2013! FULL CIRCLE: ARTS ACCESS I had the honor once again to work in this annual production from the artists at Matheny Medical and Educational Center. Matheny's Arts Access is a very special place that facilitates artistic endeavors for adults with disabilities. The 2012 Arts Access production was entitled "Full Circle: Unexpected Art." And, just days after the show, the Arts Access program received an NEA Challenge America Fast-Track grant in support of next year's production! Congratulations Arts Access! FASHION CENTS-LESS Thanks to mutual friends and a twist of fate, I found myself on set in December for this indie film directed by the very talented Tim Scanlin. I look forward to its completion and sharing pieces of the final product! NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Just last week I enjoyed filming a featured role for "Brain Games" on National Geographic. It was a fun day on a great educational show-- airing on a television near you this April. PRINT WORK It has been blessedly busy in the realm of print work -- here's a mashup of some recent gigs, including a Wella/Sebastian industrial, a collaboration via FIT, beautiful Just Jewelry's upcoming catalog, and my personal favorite-- Elegantees: Modest Fashion to Fight Sex Trafficking. BEYOND THERAPY Due to Hurricane Sandy, the charity reading of Beyond Therapy has been postponed from fall of 2012 to March 10, 2013! Hope to see you at the Producer's Club Theatres for a few laughs and a great cause. Have a great February-- here's to all the little groundhogs who woke up early today to predict an early SPRING!! :) |
