In lieu of running around town between auditions and shoots, I've found myself clacking away at my laptop this year. I've never really thought of myself as a writer, but this time to reflect (...this gargantuan amount of time to reflect) has led me to reconsider.
Exactly 366 days ago, my hubby rolled in from work with a monitor tucked under each arm, shaking his head, and set up shop in our deconstructed guest room. I was put on hold for a nice 4-day double-scale commercial shoot that would be “next week, I guess.” Well, we all know what happened since. I’m reluctant to share, but convinced that community and reflection are more important than my fears. So…
Here’s to a year.
A year of heartbreak, illness, miracles, global everything, civil unrest, virtual meetings, quarantine, and work-from-home.
Here’s to home, speaking of. If you’re lucky enough to have one, home has become many new things this year. Your office, your play space, your gym, your movie theatre…
Here’s to your ears. They’ve held up your mask, your eyeglasses, your sunglasses, and your ear buds, sometimes all at once.
Here’s to Zoom. (Were they the only ones ready for the pandemic?). Thanks for the extended free time on Thanksgiving, so we could all eat our pumpkin pie together at the same time.
Here’s to your fuzzy slippers. You know I know how much time we’ve all spent in them.
Here’s to your coffee pot. Without the office carafe, your home brew has probably become a respite among the workday. I know mine has.
Here’s to that stack of books and Amazon boxes holding up your laptop.
Here’s to your virtual party—your wedding, your baby shower, your birthday, your retirement. Your family loves you enough to celebrate with you regardless of the setting. That’s pretty awesome.
Here’s to that hobby you picked up again. Your garden re-learned its song, your dusty old saxophone re-ignited its fire, heck – even Tom Hanks whipped out an old typewriter and got it going.
Here’s to the kids. The preschoolers that don’t understand yet wear their masks like little soldiers. The second graders who have adopted sedentary lives instead of playing outside. The teens whose crowning high school years are shattered, one cancellation at a time. Love them even when it’s hard, please.
Here’s to the grandparents. They ache to hold their grandbabies while silently swallowing their desire to break the rules. They know we’re worried about them.
Here’s to all the new moms. You attended every prenatal appointment alone, labored for 15 hours in a K-N95, and welcomed zero visitors to greet the joy of your life.
Here’s to the teachers. Unless you’re a teacher, please don’t criticize.
Here’s to the snow days. Please God, can we keep the snow days?
Here’s to the moms who work full-time, who now also stay at home full-time. For the record, that’s two “full-times.”
Here’s to the first responders and health care workers. Will we ever know the burdens they carry?
Here’s to the bread you baked… and finally perfected.
Here’s to Christmas in the driveway, with hot cocoa bombs in travel mugs.
Here’s to the weather reporters. No matter what life brings, they’re always just so enthusiastic, aren’t they?
Here’s to the delivery folks and mail carriers. Thanks for dropping off my giant box of Costco-sized canned goods, as well as the entire contents of my baby’s nursery.
Here’s to the restaurant owners. Once it’s safe, I’m finding a corporate sponsor, eating out every night, and disregarding my caloric intake for an entire year.
Here’s to the people who created the vaccine. How did you do it? And so fast?
Here’s to you: my friend, my neighbor, my mom, my least favorite colleague, my usual guy-at-the-deli, my regular train conductor on the 4:05. I miss you more than you know.
Trick or treat season might be over, but it wasn't too late for the producers of GMA's "Strahan, Sarah and Keke" to have a little fun! Click below to watch yours truly scare the wits out of Michael Strahan. The fun starts at 3:25 if you're in a hurry!
ROCKIN' AROUND TWA
It's been totally groovy, swinging in at the 60s soiree now known as the TWA Hotel! What an honor to *don* authentic TWA Flight Attendant uniforms supporting the cast at this NYC landmark. Come say hey at JFK... you're gonna like us! Special thanks to Blackhaus Creative.
We're spreading joy and cheer with this fresh holiday campaign from Bare Minerals. My paw is the gift giver on camera left!
May your days be merry and bright! Wishing you the happiest and healthiest 2020!
It's been too long! I could ramble a list of excuses, but let's cut to the chase.
This winter, I had the pleasure of teaming up with the team at Reelarc to create a poignant look into caring for our elders. Check it out! Special thanks to Joe Lagville.
In lieu of a dozen new clip links, why not check out my new and improved hand modeling reel? Can you find gift cards, ghost hands, lipstick, iced coffees, lemon slices, and my paws tickling the ivories?
That's all for now! Have a pleasant springtime!
I am back in NYC following a quick jog out to Indiana for the New Harmony Theatre's July production of Nunsense! Playing Sister Mary Amnesia was an *unforgettable* experience (see what I did there?), drawing on almost every skill in my toolbox - puppetry, music theory, tap dancing, improv, Catholic theology (hello, CUA!), and patient comedy. I hope to get "back in the habit" again someday soon!
Full disclosure: my hands and I will always, always, always be found at the dessert table. Work has never felt so honest as it did this day - lemon bars are my weakness!
Three cheers for the geniuses at Macguffin who nailed this amazing continuous shot!
COFFEE AND BACON BURGERS...MMMM.....
Now airing across the U.S. - "hand"-ling some straws & cutting boards for a little burger joint...
Until next time, I hope you have a safe and enjoyable summer of fun!
BEST OF ALL...
And finally, some very exciting news - I am now a member of SAG-AFTRA.
Coming soon... a return to my musical theatre roots!
Wishing you a bright and joyful springtime!
November!?! Yep. It's been a wild year. I'll skip the excuses and just share the latest!
GET YOUR PENNEY'S WORTH
Back-to-school seems like a hundred years ago, but I would be remiss if I didn't share this quick spot from the Today Show on NBC. How wonderful to take part in a commercial for a charitable cause. And-- always hang onto your socks!
AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS
Finally, my latest treat just aired on ABC... the American Music Awards promo! This spot is just so cool, thanks to movie magic made with the immensely patient team at Big Star. Special thanks to my husband for coaching my hands on "how to fan cards" for my audition. ;-)
Clearly, I have much to be thankful for this November! Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving!
Well, this year sure has gotten away from me! Busy times yield fewer updates! Here's what has kept me so preoccupied...
As always, don't be a stranger on the Instagram! Have a wonderful, blessed, & safe summer!
What an autumn!! Here are a few projects I've been working on...
TOP PHOTOGRAPHER WITH NIGEL BARKER
I had to keep a few secrets this fall, but now I can finally share this! Click below to see my appearance on Nigel Barker's photography competition, Top Photographer. We filmed courtesy of ADORAMA at the ultra-hip Paper Factory Hotel in Long Island City--have a look for yourself!
And finally...are you unsure what to do with leftover turkey and trimmings this coming weekend? Check out my hands (& their friends!) in our cute little ad!
As always, let's stay connected on Instagram (@NoreenEddy)!
...wishing you and yours a safe and blessed holiday!
Hello and HAPPY SUMMER! Here's the latest!
Catch my smiling mug on pages for fashion and beer, and the other (longer) half of me in an online catalog. How many Noreen-halves, -parts, and -wholes can you find? Gotta catch 'em all...but you won't find any in Central Park, you crazy kids!
NOREEN - HANDS...
...for a national COFFEE brand! Anyone who knows me well, knows how much I love coffee! What a joyful day! Check out the awesome stop-motion work by the production team here! I'm the model-in-the-middle starting at :21.
I just enjoyed a fabulous shoot for a well-known website, playing a happy wife and homeowner. My "husband" and I even bought a new roof! Special thanks to the good folks in Boston for the fabulous stay! All the while, I continue training with Ken Schatz (technique) and at UCB (improv). Bring on the summertime shoots!
Until next time, be safe, stay cool, and... CHEERS!
It's been way.too.long. since my last update. Best excuse ever? You'll have to keep reading to find out why I was so distracted!
Here is a quick wrap-up of my latest work:
